Data Deletion & Account Deletion Policy
This policy explains how users may request deletion of their Clevaly account and personal data.
Last updated: June 5, 2026
1. Overview
Clevaly allows users to request deletion of their account and associated personal information. We are committed to providing users with control over their data while maintaining compliance with legal, security, and operational requirements.
2. Requesting account deletion
Users may request account deletion through:
- Account settings within Clevaly, if available;
- Contacting Clevaly Support;
- Emailing us directly at support@clevaly.io.
Requests should be submitted using the email address associated with the Clevaly account whenever possible.
3. What happens when an account is deleted
When an account deletion request is processed:
- Access to the account will be removed;
- Login credentials will be invalidated;
- Personal profile information may be deleted;
- Uploaded study materials may be deleted;
- Notes, flashcards, cheat sheets, and generated content may be deleted;
- Session, timetable, and course data may be deleted.
Deleted accounts generally cannot be restored. Users should ensure they have downloaded any information they wish to keep before requesting deletion.
4. Data that may be retained
Certain information may be retained after account deletion when necessary for legal obligations, tax and accounting requirements, fraud prevention, security investigations, enforcement of agreements, dispute resolution, or compliance with applicable laws.
Retained information will be limited to what is reasonably necessary for those purposes.
5. Subscription information
Deleting an account does not automatically cancel subscriptions purchased through third-party providers such as Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Users are responsible for cancelling subscriptions through the applicable platform before deleting their account. Failure to cancel a subscription may result in continued billing by the third-party provider.
6. Shared and public content
If content has been shared publicly through Clevaly, certain portions may remain visible after account deletion where necessary to preserve platform functionality. Where possible, publicly shared content may be anonymized or removed.
7. Backups and archived data
Copies of data may temporarily remain in secure backups after deletion. Such data is retained only for disaster recovery, security, and operational purposes and will be removed according to our normal backup retention schedules.
Backup data is not actively processed or used after account deletion except as required for system recovery.
8. Analytics and diagnostic data
Some anonymized or aggregated analytics information collected through services such as PostHog and Sentry may remain after account deletion. This information cannot reasonably be used to identify individual users.
9. Processing time
We aim to process deletion requests within a reasonable timeframe. In some cases, additional time may be required due to verification procedures, technical limitations, legal obligations, or operational requirements.
10. Verification
To protect user accounts, we may require verification of identity before processing deletion requests. Failure to provide sufficient verification may result in delays or denial of the request.
11. Data portability
Where technically feasible and legally required, users may request a copy of certain personal information before deletion. Requests may be submitted through our support channels.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on Clevaly's website and services. Continued use of Clevaly after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
