Create or join a class
Add a class yourself, join one with a join code or invite, understand student and teacher roles, and leave a class.
A class is the container for one course: its timetable slots, syllabus, topics, material, sets, notes and assignments. Every study set belongs to a class, so create the class first.
Create a class
- Go to Classes and choose New class, or pick Course from the Create hub.
- Give it a name, for example BIOL 101, and an optional description.
- Choose the kind: a Class is a school course driven by a syllabus and a timetable; a Course is self-study built from a source document.
- Save. The class joins your active term automatically.
Join with a code
A join code looks like jA1B2C3D4: the letter j followed by eight characters. Open clevaly.com/ followed by the code, or paste it into the join field on Classes. You see the class name, description and how many sets and folders it has before you sign in or confirm. Joining with a code makes you a student in that class and puts you in the section the code belongs to.
Join by invite
A teacher can invite you by email. The invite carries a role and a section, so accepting it can make you a teacher as well as a student. Invites always reach your notifications inbox, even if you have turned other categories off.
Roles

Leave a class
Open the class, go to Settings and choose Leave. Your own sets stay yours. Classes owned by an organization cannot be left from inside the app; ask the organization admin instead.
