Cleva check-ins
Cleva reaches out first before exams and deadlines, after class, or when you have gone quiet. How it decides, and how to turn it off.

Most study apps send the same reminder at the same time every day. Cleva instead plans a week ahead from your actual calendar and writes each message from your own material, then sends it as a push notification that opens a conversation.
When Cleva reaches out
- Exam prep — a couple of days before an exam and again the day before, with a set to run through.
- Assignment due — around a day before a deadline.
- Class follow-up — an hour or two after a class, to lock in what was covered.
- Presentation — the evening before or the morning of.
- Re-engage — after three or more quiet days.
- Streak and a weekly plan — at most once a week.
Guardrails
- At most one check-in per day, at least 20 hours apart.
- Never between 21:00 and 08:00 in your phone's time zone. Anything that would land then is moved to 08:30.
- Each message is re-checked right before sending, so an exam you deleted does not trigger a reminder.
Turn it on or off
Check-ins are a notification category. Go to Settings → Notifications and switch Cleva check-ins off to stop them, on to resume. The setting is saved to your account, so web and mobile agree. You can also just tell Cleva in chat to pause check-ins.
