Your first week in Clevaly
A ten-minute setup: add your term, import your timetable, connect your course site, and make your first study set.
Clevaly works best when it knows your actual school week. Classes are the parent of everything: sets, notes, material and deadlines all hang off a class, and classes live inside a term. Set those up first and the rest of the app fills itself in.
1. Create your term
Open Sessions and add the current term, for example Fall 2026. Pick Fall, Spring, Summer or Winter and Clevaly pre-fills typical start and end dates you can adjust. Home, Library and Create all filter by the active term, so this keeps last semester out of the way. See Sessions and terms.
2. Add your classes
The fastest route is Timetable import: upload a photo or PDF of your timetable and Clevaly reads the courses and weekly slots, lets you rename or remove any, then creates the classes for you. You can also create classes one at a time or join one with a join code. See Create or join a class.
3. Upload a syllabus
On a class page, choose Add your syllabus and upload the PDF. Clevaly extracts exam dates, assessments and weights, weekly topics, instructor and office hours. Exams show up on Home and feed Cleva check-ins. Details in Syllabus and course dates.
4. Connect your course site (optional)
If your school uses Moodle or Canvas, connect it under Settings → Integrations and course files land in the right class topics automatically. Start with Connect Moodle.
5. Make your first set
Open Create, pick the class, drop in a PDF, image, document or YouTube link, and choose flashcards, notes or a cheat sheet. Terms stream in as they are generated. Then open the set and try Flashcards or Learn. See Create a study set.
6. Say hi to Cleva
Cleva is the assistant built into the workspace. Ask it about a class or a set and it answers from your own material. You can also let it reach out first before exams and deadlines. Start with What Cleva can do.
